Smart Transfer (“Smart Transfer”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how the Smart Transfer mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Application” or “Services”) collect, use, process, disclose, and protect information when you use the Application.

Depending on the features you use, Smart Transfer may access, process, or collect the following categories of information.

A. Device and Technical Information

We may collect:

  • Operating system version
  • Application version
  • IP address
  • Device identifiers
  • Network and connection information

  • Battery and device performance information
This information helps improve application performance, compatibility, stability, diagnostics, and security.

B. Usage Information

We may collect limited usage information such as:

  • Application interaction events
  • Feature usage

  • Advertising interaction data
We use Firebase Analytics and related technologies to understand application performance and improve user experience.

C. Files and Media Selected by the User

Depending on the feature used, Smart Transfer may access files and media selected by the user, including:

  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Audio files
  • Documents
  • APK files
  • Downloads
  • Other supported files
For local transfers and storage management features, selected files:

  • Are transferred directly between authorized devices
  • Are processed locally on the device
  • Are not uploaded to our servers
  • Are not sold to third parties

D. Contacts, SMS, Calendar, and Other User-Selected Content

Certain features may access:

  • Contacts
  • SMS and MMS messages
  • Calendar entries
  • Call logs
  • Reminders
  • Notes
  • Bookmarks
This access is used solely to provide transfer, backup, organization, cleanup, categorization, or migration functionality selected by the user.

Except for Remote File Sharing features:

  • Data is processed locally or transferred directly between devices
  • Content is not uploaded to our servers
  • Content is not used for advertising or profiling purposes

E. Bookmarks and Saved Links

The Bookmarks feature may allow users to:

  • Save website links
  • Edit bookmark titles or URLs
  • Organize bookmarks into categories
  • Manage saved bookmarks within the Application

Bookmarks are stored locally on the user’s device unless the user explicitly uses backup, restore, or sharing features.

F. QR Code Data

The QR Scanner feature may process:
  • QR codes scanned by the user
  • QR scan history
  • QR-related content selected by the user
QR history is stored locally on the user’s device unless removed by the user.

G. Backup and Restore Data

The Backup & Restore feature may process supported content selected by the user in order to:

  • Create local backups
  • Restore backed-up information
  • Assist with device migration or recovery
Backup files created through the Application are stored locally on the user’s device unless the user explicitly uses sharing features.

H. Remote File Sharing

Certain remote sharing features may temporarily process files through secure servers solely to complete transfers between authorized devices.
Files shared using Remote File Sharing:

  • Are transferred only after user initiation
  • May be temporarily stored solely for transfer delivery purposes
  • Are automatically deleted after successful delivery or after a limited retention period
  • Are not used for advertising, analytics, or profiling purposes

  • Phone number (if voluntarily provided through support requests or communications)

This information is used solely for:
  • Customer support
  • Responding to inquiries
  • Service-related communications

We do not sell contact information to third parties.

2. Device Permissions

Depending on the features used, Smart Transfer may request the following permissions.

Photos and Videos Permission

Used to:
  • Transfer media files
  • Detect duplicate or blurry photos
  • Organize screenshots, GIFs, downloads, and media folders

Files and Storage Access Permission

Used to:
  • Access selected files and folders
  • Transfer files between devices
  • Create backups
  • Restore supported content
  • Manage storage-related functionality
On Android devices, certain features may require broader storage permissions to support file management functionality.

Contacts Permission

Used to:
  • Transfer contacts
  • Detect duplicate contacts
  • Merge or organize contact entries

SMS and MMS Permission

Used to:
  • Transfer SMS and MMS messages between devices
  • Restore SMS messages on the receiving device

Certain Android features may require the Application to be temporarily set as the default SMS app during restoration. Users may switch back to their preferred messaging app afterward.

Calendar Permission

Used to transfer or restore calendar events selected by the user.

Camera Permission

Used to:

  • Scan QR codes
  • Connect devices during transfer setup

Network and Wi-Fi Permission

Used to:

  • Detect nearby devices
  • Enable hotspot and Wi-Fi transfer functionality
  • Measure network connectivity and transfer performance
  • Establish secure device-to-device connections
  • Display network speed, connection quality, and diagnostics information
  • Monitor Wi-Fi and mobile data usage statistics for network analysis features

Battery and Device Information Access

Used to:

  • Display battery usage statistics
  • Provide battery optimization insights
  • Show device-related performance information

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain the Services
  • Enable transfer, backup, sharing, storage, and migration features
  • Organize files, contacts, bookmarks, and supported content

We do not sell personal data for monetary compensation.

Subscription billing, renewal, cancellation, and payment processing are handled by the respective application store provider, including Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and are subject to their applicable terms and policies.

Except for Remote File Sharing features, transferred content is not uploaded to our servers.
